In this lesson, students will read and analyze a mentor text 100 Word Memoir. After studying the mentor text, students will create and evaluate their own 100 Word Memoir.

This 8-minute "whiteboard" illustration style video covers 4 major incentives for students to think about workplace writing and communication. It addresses how writing impacts personal credibility, how writing is an overlooked but important “currency” of business, how writing shows critical thinking, and how writing magnifies workplace attributes. The NRC Framework for K-12 Science Education and the resulting Next Generation Science Standards focus on an integrated three-dimensional view of science learning in which students develop understanding of core ideas of science and crosscutting concepts in the context of engaging in science and engineering practices.How is assessing three-dimensional science learning different than how we have thought of science learning in the past? Students will research guidelines for purchasing their first vehicle from an assigned print article. Then students will formulate their own personal guidelines for purchasing and finally select three vehicles for possible purchase with a rationale as to how each of these selections would be consistent with these established guidelines.

Students will learn what advanced directives are and how they could apply to their own lives later in life. Students will identify the impact on families as one makes advanced directive decisions.

Students will understand vehicle loan guidelines and calculate a 48 and 60 month loan for monthly and total payment costs. Students will rationalize which loan would best suit them based on personal circumstances.

Students will analyze three vehicular choices using an online vehicle rating service and make comparisons as to which might be most appropriate for purchase.

Students will research the issues and policies regarding child development in underdeveloped nations and present their findings including logical arguments for policy change.

Students in an Advanced Child Development class will examine the pros and cons to allowing or restricting children participation in competitive activities. Based on their research of the topic they will produce a video clarifying one position or the other.

This Advanced Child Development lesson presents the different styles of parenting children ages 4-8. The lesson provides the students to compare parenting styles and construct a scenario using these different styles in an effort to determine the positive or negative impact on the child.

to show that language brokering is a common practice that takes place in many schools around the world;
to promote a deeper understanding of what language brokering usually implies for young people;
to present some situations that teachers can analyze and discuss with their students from multiple perspectives as part of reflective practice;
to appreciate multilingualism and raise awareness among young people who translate and interpret in schools;
to provide young language brokers with tools and strategies to express how they feel about language brokering, and thus to take care of emotional health.
The videogame is multilingual and can be played in English, Catalan, German, Italian, and Spanish.
