This resource includes two sections, both of which encompass all of Gagne's 9 Instructional Events. The first lesson plan provides the students with a description of a tree's life cycle, accompanied by various interactive elements in the lecture, videos, Kahoot quiz, and take-home activity, and an overview of what is included in their field trip (lesson 2). Lesson two is a gamification activity encompassing Bartle's four-player types in the river valley. The students can apply their skills and work collaboratively. Followed by this task, they would need to use their pictures collected from the activity and make an Adobe spark video detailing their results, one attribute about the form of tree or leaf, and a picture to correlate.

This OLogy trivia game offers a fun way to test kids' knowledge of light. The game board (included in a printable PDF) represents an atom, with a central nucleus circled by two orbits. Each player represents an electron that has been bumped into the atom's outer unstable orbit. Kids answer the questions about light on the trivia cards (included in a printable PDF) as they move around, circling the outer orbit. The first player to make it around the game board pops back into the stable orbit, emits light from the atom, and wins. Two additional overview articles are included with the activity: Where Do Photons Come From? and Einstein Sheds Some Light on a Mystery.

This activity deals with the concept of rhyming. This concept is not immediately understood by most students and needs to be explained first with ample examples. The activity consists of groups of 3 words two of which rhyme and one doesn't. Students read the words or listen to the instructor and select the word that doesn't rhyme. They are then directed to pick a specific letter from the "wrong" word and write it in a separate column. After completing the assignment students unscramble the letters trying to form a meaningful expression related to listening which in this case is "I'm all ears".

Features of the site include topic video introductions by park rangers, slide deck lessons, interactive games, vocabulary puzzles, activities to encourage outside learning, and a literacy poetry challenge. Teachers can easily adapt the materials to create fun and engaging lessons, and a teacher guide will also be added to this online learning experience in November 2020.

This activity is intended as an exercise in deductive logic. The students perform a series of "experiments" in which they try to identify which predators eat which specific prey (Each predator eats one and only one prey).
The instructions are on the site. students may also click on the blue square to make the game full screen.
A worksheet is added for students to record their results. This also is an exercise in articulating the logic used in the study. (Most students have no trouble figuring out the relationships). Writing down their results and conclusions is a bit trickier. )
This has been used for community college classes. It can be used at lower levels such as high school or even middle school without the worksheet.

The Magic of Sound, e-knjiga – XV. gimnazija

This e-book is one of the results of the international project “The Magic of Sound” coordinated by XV. gimnazija, Zagreb, Croatia, with the partners: Devonport High School for Girls, Plymouth, United Kingdom, Justus-von-Liebig Gymnasium, Neußäs, Germany and Colegiul National Moise Nicoara, Arad, Romania. The project was funded by the European Union through the program Erasmus+.
Based on the existing curricula of all participating schools, we produced the teaching/ learning materials which could make education more interesting. As they are independent from the school system, they can be shared and further developed on a broad base.
The developed teaching/ learning materials and methods integrate the teaching of basic skills, as in science, mathematics, literacy and arts, and present strategies on how to simultaneously give students deeper insights into the global picture. They also provide students with the tools to interconnect their knowledge and apply it in different fields, which still presents one of the biggest challenges in education on the overall.
We chose sound as a topic because we found that it can be perfectly integrated in the subject curricula of Physics, Mathematics, Music, Languages, Biology, History and Psychology in all four countries. The sub-topics are organised in four groups around the main subjects - O1: Magic of Music, O2: Sounds in Nature, O3: Sounds of Europe, O4: Theory of Sound- which allowed us to establish a solid basis for the interdisciplinary teaching. In the final sub-topic, O5: The Magic of Sound, the techniques and examples on how to reorganise the materials in an arbitrary context are presented.
The materials are presented in a variety of forms: worksheets, methodological instructions, presentations, videos, quizzes, etc. There are examples of completely developed interdisciplinary units, but there are also shorter pieces that incorporate elements of general knowledge or other subject- specific links which enrich the teaching of a primary subject without overloading it. Some materials include evidence of students’ work.
Most of the materials are given in four languages of the participating countries, all of them in the English language. Topics to be incorporated in the teaching of languages are structured as follows: French is given separately, because it is not one of the four “official” languages, English given only in the sections in English, and German is given in all sections.
Some materials allow students to see the opportunities for future employment within the EU in the context of what has been taught, and to realize that being a part of Europe does not mean losing their identity, but enhance it in many positive ways. Together we are stronger.
