In comparison with e-learning content, e-learning processes evolve over time, and are essentially performed in such as way that they structure human activity using designs such as schedules, rules and protocols. Common e-learning activities include participating in online discussion, chat and other forms of conferencing (Salmon 2000), accessing specific e-learning content, taking tests and assessments, working through short exercises to stimulate thinking (Salmon 2002), or completing web forms such as those used in e-portfolios or course evaluation. While some elearning activities are direct analogues of offline activities, the majority (such as asynchronous communication) are significantly transformed by being in the online domain, and others, (such as interactive simulations and animation) are difficult to provide in any context other than an online environment.

In this classroom activity, young students are introduced to sets and subsets. The activity opens with background information for teachers about cladistics. After brainstorming different ways to group the class itself, students work in small groups to identify subsets of coins. The groups then complete a worksheet that challenges them to group dinosaurs into sets and subsets and share their results with the class.

This module is part of a course on Inclusive Educational Practices that offers professional development for educators who aspire to provide a supportive learning environment for dyslexic and with learning difficulties learners.Students have different needs, interests, and abilities. In order to effectively teach them and provide them with rich learning experiences, lesson plans need to be as diverse as they are. This module aims to help educators analyze different learning styles and accordingly build  their lesson plans as to embrace and support not only the needs of specific learners but provide quality education for all students. To this end, tools, articles, guidelines, videos, and examples are provided. Planning a lesson for an inclusive classroom entails less modifications for future use in a different learning context, facilitates a substitute to take over the class, and ensures learning for every child."It is not the disabilities of the students that prevent the implementation of a long effective instructional model, but the environment that is disabling"                               Katz, 2015
