This lesson introduces your students to the positive and negative forms of the verb. By the end of the class, your students will be forming simple sentences independently. Don’t forget to congratulate your students when they complete their first full sentence in English! It’s a big deal and they should feel accomplished. With your encouragement, they will be excited to learn more and will sign up for more classes with their favorite English teacher— you! If you want additional lesson plans and support, including teachers’ notes, be sure to register for a free Off2Class account.

The research project of this Ph.D. in Digital Media has as objective the creation of a tool (object of learning) for pedagogical aid in teaching the production of visual effects in audiovisual productions, more specifically in the interactions between real and virtual images (match moving).
The prototype created during the research has the purpose of assisting teachers and students in the practical exercises of interaction between real and virtual images.
The tool has the ability to assist in data collection at the time of live-action filming, given the large amount and complexity of these data, and its vital need for the reproduction of real conditions in the virtual universe later.
In addition, it has the ability to generate a script (in Maxscript language) for its use in 3DS Max graphics software, automating part of the production process.
It is also part of the research, besides the conception and creation of the tool (learning object), its validation in the pedagogical and design bias (user experience and user interface).

When you get a call on your telephone/mobile phone, it means that someone has done effort to reach you. Now what remains is the courtesy and empathy on your part. These few minutes can leave a final impression on the callers mind. Let us learn more to find out what can be done to master this skill of communication. Before we move towards streamlining the contours of Phone Etiquettes, do remember that every mode of communication is important. This one seems simple and easy-but what is easy to see is often easy to miss.

In this activity, student teams design and conduct a scientific investigation in which they explore the conditions necessary for life. They conduct observations of environmental conditions both indoor and outdoor, and determine the range of variation they see. They compare these data with published temperature data for Earth, Mars, Pluto and Venus. The activity supports inquiry into the real world challenge of searching for life in extreme environments. The resource includes several student data sheets, data table and images, and a teacher's guide. Materials needed for this activity include weather instruments (e.g., thermometers, barometers, anemometers). This is Activity A of two activities in the first module, titled "Temperature variations and habitability," of the resource, "Earth Climate Course: What Determines a Planet's Climate?" The course aims to help students to develop an understanding of our environment as a system of human and natural processes that result in changes that occur over various space and time scales.

Less than 2% of the students in the United States participate in Alternate Assessment (AA), which is a product of the No Child Left Behind legislation and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). (I've linked to the Iowa Alternate Assessment page. There is a similar page for Alternate Assessment in other states.) While this is a very small percentage of students, the Alternate Assessment process is still a lot of work for the teachers of those students. I went through this process three out of the four years that I have taught special education. Here are some of the basics that I learned which really helped me with this process.

Overview: Title IV-E Waiver Wraparound Collaborative Summary: This site contains the materials for the Title IV-E Waiver Wraparound Collaborative course. There are materials that we are asking the participants to copy and bring with them to the class. There are materials that the Resource Center will provide for participants and there are materials that we are providing to participants that we ask for them to review prior to the class that do not need to be printed.

Students will create a panorama drawing of their own landscape. They will include landmarks and cardinal directions in their drawings, and use their drawings to plot the movement of the sun in the sky over the course of a day. They may make their observations in one day, or over a period of days or weeks. Once students have created their own panoramas, they will look at panoramas taken in the North and South Poles and compare similarities and differences. They will then explore the “Sun Path Simulator” online. Before beginning these lessons, students should already know: 1) How to find the four, cardinal directions, and 2) That the Earth rotates on its axis, and revolves around the sun. 3) How to tell time. This unit pairs nicely with the Mystery Science Unit, Spinning Sky. Where indicated, worksheets and videos for lessons can be found on their website. Links to all other worksheets for the entire unit are in the “Overview” Section of my slideshow. Each day’s lesson comes with a worksheet to focus the students and to show evidence of student learning.

My passion is to help students seamlessly transfer from their original dream school (in one of the City Colleges of Chicago) to their four-year dream schools and to obtain funding. For that purpose, I have composed a book entitled Transfer Like a Rockstar! Tips on Transferring from Community College to Your New Four-year Dream School. I hope that you enjoy it!

The Ocean Wise Howe Sound Education Kit Is available in multiple grade editions, all in French and English and include both a student work book and teacher accompanying guidebook. Each kit features several lessons on the unique UNESCO heritage site of the Howe Sound environment.
Átl’ḵa7tsem/Txwnéwu7ts/ Howe Sound is a coastal fjord ecosystem in the Salish Sea. It is a vital area to First Nation communities, providing natural resources that allowed Indigenous peoples to thrive for generations before colonization. Following colonization and years of destructive human activity, such as industrial and coastal development, efforts are currently underway by government, industry groups, and local communities to transition the Sound’s marine ecosystem from crisis to recovery. Indigenous communities, in particular, are working hard to restore life and traditional practices for generations to come.
Using Átl’ḵa7tsem/ Txwnéwu7ts/ Howe Sound as a case study, students can recognize how ecosystems, species, human impact, and climate change are interconnected. This work is essential for students to make informed decisions as the future stewards of our planet.
