The Student Climate Assembly Toolkit describes how we design and implementation of the program. This is not a plug and play unit plan. Instead, it is a guide with options and resources for teachers to adapt this model to their own region and classroom.  The primary audience for this toolkit is high school civics teachers, but it may be of interest to other educators.This toolkit includes: a description of SCA preparation, components and how they were presented (section 1); background information about climate science, deliberative democracy, climate justice and social emotional learning (sections 1 & 3); learning standards & student assessment (section 2); sources for teacher and student research (section 3); and examples of SCA teaching tools (section 4)

Demonstrative pronouns – this, that, these, and those – are used to replace nouns in sentences. Demonstrative pronouns are difficult to grasp for English language learners for many reasons. First, they all start with th, which is a hard sound for English learners to produce. Second, they are used in relation to the speaker, which often creates further confusion for students. This is a highly adaptable outline for how design thinking could be introduced to your learners over a multi-day project. This plan works best if students are divided up into groups of 3-4 for all work except the introduction to each concept at the beginning of class. This guide is designed to walk you through each step of creating a math lesson-plan with recommended OER that you can evaluate.

With each step of the guide, I create a sample lesson on learning the Pythagorean Theorem. By the end, you have an entire lesson plan example for this concept.

This resource provides a more in depth explanation for the key progression in the language of the standard, as well as strategy suggestions for implementation.

The OER "Developing Emotional Intelligence: Understanding and Managing Emotions" is designed for children aged 4-12 to help them recognize, understand, and manage their emotions while fostering empathy and strong social skills. This resource provides engaging activities such as drawing feelings faces, creating calm down jars, and practicing empathy through charades. Additionally, it includes storytelling sessions with books like "When Sophie Gets Angry - Really, Really Angry" and interactive activities like keeping a feelings journal. Complemented by songs and videos, this OER equips children with essential emotional skills for positive interactions and personal well-being.

During our first workshop, you learned about transparent assignment design. In brief, we discussed assignments that name the purpose (skills practiced, knowledge gained), the task (what students will do and steps to accomplish it), and the criteria for success (a checklist or rubric). During our second workshop, you learned about reflective writing, a tool for helping students make sense of their learning experience through description, connection, prediction/application, critique/analysis, and condensing for external audiences.

There are many different ways to teach microbiology, and the best way to teach it will depend on the students’ age and level of education. One way to teach microbiology is to use learning materials that are specifically designed for schools. These materials can help to make the learning process more fun and interesting for students. Some of the best practices for developing microbiology learning materials for schools include: 1. Developing materials that are age-appropriate 2. Using fun and interactive activities 3. Incorporating images and videos 4. Using real-world examples 5. Including assessment questions

Background: We are providing PD on differentiation. Day two is centered around using tech tools to differentiate. We will be exploring three tech tools for this PD (Jamboard, Adobe Spark, and Canva). The see-think-wonder strategy will be repeated to explore each of these tools separately. They will be building off of day one PD where they identified gaps in their units where they needed to differentiate. When they have worked through the activity for each tool, they should have a list of differentiation ideas that can be used to fill the gaps they had identified previously.
