The following unit offers multiple entry points into developing an understanding of media literacy. The unit framework and primary sources can be integrated into classrooms of grades 4-12. Each lesson has student objectives that can be accomplished within 40 minute periods over the course of several weeks. A midpoint writing assessment, whole class capstone debate, and final independent writing assessment are included. Support materials are integrated into the lessons, and the primary source document pages can be found at the end of the unit guide.

This module refers to elementary school, students’ level A1-A2, 5th grade. The module has 3 vocabulary activities about the weather and 3 grammar activities about adjectives. The last section is a short film for keeping students interested and relaxed, for rewarding them for all the effort they put through the module and of course discuss thoughts and opinions. This module is a combination of listening and speaking, focusing on new vocabulary and grammatical phenomenon. It is multidirectional and has a variety of activities to not only students learn but also to have fun. The videos, one at the beginning and the other one at the end, play significant role, same objectives but different perspectives.

What makes a good sentence? This lesson plan was created by Dawn Spurck as part of the 2020 NDE OER Project. The attached lesson plan is designed for Grade K English Language Arts students. Students will demonstrate their understanding that sentences are made up of words.  Students will also make a simple sentence that is grammatically correct. This lesson plan addresses the following NDE Standard: NE LA O1.1.b, NE LA 0.1.1.e, NE LA 0.1.1.f, NE LA 0.1.1 g, and NE LA 0.2.1.d.It is expected that this lesson will take students 60-90 minutes to complete.  This lesson should be broken into smaller more manageable chunks for kindergarten students.  It is suggested that teachers do modeled lesson for one sitting, Interactive another time in another sitting.  Teachers use your professional judgement on what works best for your students
