This is an Online Educational Resource to help students learn how to break down readings to understand them better.  This is based off PHIL 1000 OL1 at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.  It shows an example discussion and ways to break down sentences/quotes from the readings.  There are also tips that might be helpful when taking an online class.  

This activity is about the study of planetary samples. Learners will use samples of crustal material to sort, classify, and make observations about an unknown planet. From their observations, students will interpret the geologic history of their mystery planet and make inferences about past life or the potential for life on the "Mystery" planet. The lesson models scientific inquiry using the 5E instructional model and includes teacher notes and vocabulary.

Career videos show the types of work in which individuals employed in a career field, cluster or pathway are engaged. Nebraska Career Education, in cooperation with the Nebraska Departments of Labor and Economic Development, offers an array of virtual career tours of Nebraska-based businesses and industries. Discussion guides for the teacher and viewing guides for students have been developed for each career tour. These virtual industry tours provide a unique opportunity to get a glimpse inside Nebraska-based industries without leaving the classroom. Interviews, tours of the business environment and “pop-up” information and statistics on job markets, salaries, and educational requirements are part of each career cluster’s videos.

This resource helps students understand the effects of taking notes in the classroom. There are also tools that help students figure out what to do after the notes are finished in the classroom.
