Rural isolated Maori communities in Aotearoa face many obstacles in todays world. One of the many challenges encountered by the people in these communities is education. The young people living in isolated communities are disadvantaged in many ways due to the lack of technological resources and support that are available in towns and cities.
We live in a digital world, therefore, it is our responsibility to ensure our students experience the various opportunities out there.

The course treats: the discrete Fourier Transform (DFT), the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), their application in OFDM and DSL; elements of estimation theory and their application in communications; linear prediction, parametric methods, the Yule-Walker equations, the Levinson algorithm, the Schur algorithm; detection and estimation filters; non-parametric estimation; selective filtering, application to beamforming.

Das Tutorial Digitale Textedition mit TEI besteht aus einer Reihe von Kapiteln, die aufeinander aufbauend in die Kodierung und Edition von Texten nach den Guidelines der Text Encoding Initiative (TEI) einführen. This covers the implementation of database clustering through Open Source technologies. It is designed to teach the students on how to get, install and configure the required software and eventually set-up the cluster. It also provides an example on how a web application connects randomly to any database server in the cluster and still gets the same data. Through this example, high data availability solution is clearly demonstrated in the sense that if and when one database server in the cluster is down, the other database server can continue providing the needed data.

The course focuses on three main dredging processes: the cutting of sand, clay and rock, the sedimentation process in hopper dredges and the breaching process

The purpose of this course is to convey knowledge of the various physical processes associated with slurry handling and transport during dredging. This knowledge is needed for the design of dredging equipment and for planning efficient equipment operations.
