When to use this lesson?This lesson is best to use with beginner students looking/needing to develop functional language skills. Functional language skills are essential for students to have so they can interact in real-life situations. So, this does not aim to introduce grammar and instead vocabulary in different contexts to create meaning. The point of this lesson is for students to gain language skills that they can use in their everyday lives, particularly in the classroom.You can also use this lesson as a practice or break lesson with more intermediate students. Simply just ask your more experienced student to speak more, expand on concepts and formulate sentences independently. The intent is to help people acquire the essential knowledge on QuickBooks with minimum technology education. The book starts from the setup of QuickBooks Online via the web. Readers are taught to use a free version of QuickBooks Online for learning purposes. The learning tool with some restrictions is provided by Intuit Inc. at no cost to learners. The content in this book uses a large number of visual graphics to ease the learning curve. Completion of the QuickBooks Online study in this book can be accomplished in a self-paced learning manner outside of the classroom.

It is hoped that this book will broaden the career development of many office workers including administrative assistants. This can be accomplished by improving their technology skills towards jobs in data entry, bookkeeping, and financial management for small and large businesses.

This resource was written for students working in externship or internship settings, with a focus on social justice or access to justice-focused placements. An externship is simply a placement completed under supervision for credit in an organization such as a law firm, clinic, NGO, or other workplace context. Although the text will be of most immediate use to externship and internship students, it will also be relevant for students working in legal clinics or other law placement settings. This particular text was written for students working in a Canadian context. In Canada, provinces and territories have their own Law Societies. Most references in this text focus on one Canadian province, Ontario, but similar materials and resources are typically available in other provinces and territories. Significant provincial differences will be noted. This text is open source and will be updated over time.
