Performance Objectives: Understand the basics of copyright and fair use in relation to open educationImplement the Creative Commons Licenses Copyright. We know what it is. And that it is complicated. The digital world has drastically changed how we access, use and interact with copyrighted content.

In this activity, student teams identify the locations of coral reefs around the world, examine infrared satellite images of the Earth, and research the impacts that are threatening the survival of coral reefs. Each team creates a short oral presentation describing the coral reef they have researched. Students then plot on a composite map the locations where coral bleaching is occurring. Student worksheets, a teacher guide, and assessment rubric are included. This activity is part of Coastal Areas: Coral Reefs in Hot Water, part of the lesson series, The Potential Consequences of Climate Variability and Change.

A new rate structure for Home-Based Foster Care (HBFC) was necessitated with the passage of the Continuum of Care Reform (CCR). In response, a Level of Care (LOC) Protocol has been developed for use by county child welfare and probation placement workers. A LOC matrix using five domains (Physical, Behavioral/Emotional, Health, Educational and Permanency/Family Services Domain), separately scored, and designed to promote best practices in meeting the individual needs of children/youth in the foster care system.

These materials are for use with the Openstax Biology 2e textbook. I have included a schedule and guided notes for each chapter to aid in student reading. Welcome to microbiology! In this 3-credit unit course we will cover the microbiology of bacterial and fungal organisms of importance to veterinary medicine. This content of this course lies somewhere in between basic microbiology and clinical infectious disease; although we will discuss some fundamental microbiological concepts, material will be presented from the clinician’s perspective where possible.

This a a cross curricular unit encompassing English, History, and Math Common Core Standards to teach the Child Labor practices of 1800s U.S. with the tragedy of Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire of 1911 which lead to child labor reform throughout the world and into the modern era.

This archive contains a series of lessons on cryptography suitable for use in a CS0 course. The only requirement is familiarity with Python, particularly dictionaries, lists, and file IO. It is also assumed that students know how to create stand-alone Python programs and interact with them through the terminal. Most of the work is done in Jupyter notebooks.
