We are obligated to provide enrichment opportunities and to appropriately challenge and engage these students. How do we find and monitor science enrichment activities for those students simultaneous to providing additional intervention and assistance to students who have yet to master the current concepts?

This is a unit developed for the Branch Aliance for Educator Diversity Summer Institute to be used as OER/instructional materials for Teacher Education classes. This unit emphasizes the varied types of pedagogical models candidates will need in their proverbial "toolboxes" as they prepare to enter the classroom.  

This listserv is provided by the Foreign Language Teaching Forum and is an integrated service for foreign language teachers, dedicated to encouraging communication, sharing, and collaboration at all levels. The broad discussion topic is foreign language teaching methods for any level of instruction in all languages. Students in teacher training programs, teachers both new and experienced, administrators, and other professionals interested in any aspect of foreign language teaching are invited to participate in discussions. Messages are sent via email and are also archived in a searchable database. The website is hosted by the State University of New York College at Cortland.

This is the lab manual for the Fay Lab at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth School for Marine Science and Technology. The focus of our work centers around developing interdisciplinary modeling approaches to extend the scope of applications for fisheries and ecosystem-based management. Building High-Impact Online Icebreakers

The collection of handouts, tools, and deliverables used at the Distance Teaching & Learning Conference in Madison, WI in 2017.

This text includes chapters from instructional designers, university faculty and staff, and undergraduate and graduate students, and the text has been divided into three sections to reflect these varied perspectives. Each section begins with research-based perspectives, but also contains more personal narratives at the end. While the context of most of the chapters is the United States, there are also chapters with a Canadian context. It is also important to note that, as of the first half of 2021, the pandemic rages on, and mentions of COVID-19 in the following chapters will be reflective of the state of affairs in North America in the spring and fall of 2020.

This open textbook is designed primarily for teacher candidates in Queen’s University’s Faculty of Education enrolled FOUN 102: Historical and Philosophical Foundations of Education. By using this open textbook to support learning in the course, we hope to free students from the costs of textbooks (and of the challenge of receiving textbooks in the midst of this global pandemic) and create a space that permits bounded exploration of what it means to think, live, and breathe philosophy and history in the multiverse that is education. This open textbook is supported financially by a grant made available by Open Library Services at the Queen’s University Library.

On Thursday, January 26, 2023, #GoOpen held a public webinar titled, “How Open Educational Resources Can Support Digital Equity in Your State”.  The session dove into the benefits of OER for digital equity, including hearing the perspective of a state that has invested in OER to promote equity. Featuring Connecticut education leader Doug Casey, the session provided specific examples of how participants might take action in their states to craft Digital Equity Plans that can leverage OER to support equity and capitalize on improved digital infrastructure.

As the digital revolution brings with it radical changes in how and what we learn, people must continue to learn all the time. New technologies make possible new approaches to learning, new contexts for learning, new tools to support learning, and new ideas of what can be learned. This course will explore these new opportunities for learning with a special focus on what can be learned through immersive, hands-on activities. Students will participate in (and reflect on) a variety of learning situations, and will use Media Lab technologies to develop new workshops, iteratively run and refine the workshops, and analyze how and what the workshop participants learn.

The Improving Instructor-to-Student Interaction using D2L Brightspace Tools short course is designed to
allow participants to navigate through the course at their own pace. The course is online and
asynchronous. The course focuses on introducing and re-introducing the use of specific D2L Brightspace
features and tools (including Classlist, Email, Intelligent Agents, and private Discussions) to improve
instructor-to-student interactions in an online course.

The Floe Inclusive Learning Design Handbook is a free Open Educational Resource (OER) designed to assist teachers, content creators, Web developers, and others in creating adaptable and personalizable educational resources that can accommodate a diversity of learning preferences and individual needs.

This is an Instructional Pedagogy April 2019 Examination paper for a teaching training program at diploma level.

This presentation explores the practice of mindfulness for teachers. The rationale for this practice is explored for teachers to become more productive, more effective, and happier. Happier teachers create classrooms where students learn better. By practicing mindfulness, teachers can create and sustain positive environments in which students can thrive. A Mind Body meditation is included as the author leads viewers through a centering exercise.
