The lesson will apply Newton’s Second Law equation, F=ma (Force equals mass times acceleration) to a lab, which allows learners to solve problems using the equation while performing an experiment. The lab will be created in a way to teach the scientific method.
The purpose of the lesson with respect to adult education is to teach learners about the scientific method, while it is not used directly the process is the foundation of what would be performed in a typical entry-level laboratory or research job, which would consist of doing part of or all of an experiment in a similar manner.

This lesson will help adult learners to identify honey bees, identify different types of honey bees in a hive, describe pollination process, interpret the importance of pollination and honey bees for pollination and gain knowledge about beekeeping. This will provide a business idea for them to pursue at the same type help conserve honey bee populations. In the long run this will help make food production sustainable. Several online and paper resources are available in this lesson. The mobile-based activities will enhance the learning experience. It will enable learners to access materials and recall and also perform an interesting assignment by taking photos. Only free mobile tools like Wix.com and Whatsapp are used.

In this lesson, students will view and analyze both good and bad interview techniques. Students will identify proper dress for a professional interview setting, recognize proper body language and behaviors expected at interviews, and will practice proper communication skills employers are looking for. Interviewing is an important process to gaining quality employment and a problem this lesson will address. Understand proper dress, speech, and behaviors will increase a person's chance of gaining quality employment. Public speaking skills are needed, proper persuasive communication skill, life skills such as proper dress and body language.

The lesson introduces “evidence” as a necessary support for claims in a persuasive essay, or argument. It demonstrates what the relationship between words and ideas in a claim should be to the key ideas in a passage, or passages, cited in support of a claim. Learners practice using evidence to support a claim about the role of motivation and procrastination in their own lives, then find at least one piece of evidence from an article on that topic.

This lesson can be used by adult learners to gain experience in identifying the strength of themes in writing passages. Upon conclusion of the lesson students will be able to not only identify the theme of an piece of writing but also key details used to support the author’s argument.

In this lesson, students will distinguish the literal and non-literal meanings of verbal and written content in different contexts. The lesson targets third-fourth grade students. Learners will demonstrate an understanding of idioms by using context clues in the sentences to help figure out the meanings of idioms, by drawing out idioms without using words or letters, by creating greeting cards, and by creating a costume to portray their chosen idiom.

Collecting information from the Internet may seem simple, however, at times one may get an overwhelmingly large number of results for simple queries, some of which may not be relevant or reliable. This lesson teaches learners a step-wise approach that prepared them to conduct a basic search with internet. By exploring different types of search engines and inputting key words into the search bar, the learner will gain experience and confidence using the steps needed to successfully search the internet. It prepares learners to conduct Internet searches effectively and prepares them to take the next step in their learning.

Being able to conduct productive job searches is key to finding employment opportunities. Digital literacy is also a necessity for gaining employment. That’s why this course aims to provide adult basic education participants the ability to self-navigate the internet to search for relevant, reliable search results. Participants will be able to demonstrate how this increased digital literacy related to internet searching can help them successfully find relevant job opportunities.
