Lesson plan for a project that can be used as an icebreaker or introduction to Adobe Photoshop. Students will use Photoshop and self images to illustrate a place or situation where they "would rather be."

This is a PBL for first grade social studies about the importance of rules in the classroom, school, and community. This PBL will require students to create a set of classroom rules for the class to follow using either a video or poster.

In this activity, students will be identifying Spanish cognates in a Spanish magazine article. They will also have the opportunity to practice their comprehension of cognates with bingo.

This is a Unit that I created for STEM Lessons. Students love to create Rube Goldberg Machines and they get a much better idea of how simple machines work and what they can do to accomplish work.

The learner audience for this lesson are adults preparing for the GED, specifically the English/Language Arts portion. The lesson introduces “evidence” as a necessary support for claims in a persuasive essay, or argument. It demonstrates what the relationship between words and ideas in a claim should be to the key ideas in a passage, or passages, cited in support of a claim. Learners practice using evidence to support a claim about the role of motivation and procrastination in their own lives, then find at least one piece of evidence from an article on that topic.

This is a lesson plan, student worksheet, and teacher answer key to introduce identifying text structures and using appropriate graphic organizers (GO) for each text structure. There is an introduction with a video lecture from which students can get basic information and examples on 6 text structures. There is a link to more guided and independent work in this area.

In this lesson, students will distinguish the literal and non-literal meanings of verbal and written content in different contexts. The lesson targets third-fourth grade students. Learners will demonstrate an understanding of idioms by using context clues in the sentences to help figure out the meanings of idioms, by drawing out idioms without using words or letters, by creating greeting cards, and by creating a costume to portray their chosen idiom.

This lesson focuses on using psuedo code to understand nested conditional statements. It includes two activities that can be used together for a full lesson or separated in to two supplemental activities to lessons you already do in the classroom.
