In this unit designed for an integrated middle school science classroom, students investigate why athletes ice injuries. This leads students to wonder why actual bags of ice are used instead of the instant ice packs found in first aid kits. Students then investigate the chemical reaction occurring within an instant ice pack and work to develop a better design.

Before discussion of those patterns begins, a few notes must be made. First is that the sections should probably be developed in the determined order; one part of each section relies on what precedes it, so having the preceding material in place is helpful.

This is resource that can be used in a Beginner's weightlifting course.  Specifically, it targets two main lifts- the squat and the deadlift.

In this lesson, students will learn how to use the first conditional. As well they will be introduced to the concept of how the speaker feels about a statement and whether that statement is true or not. In addition, students will learn the if-clause and result cause, and the idea of action and result. This lesson does not cover the difference between particular and habitual activities. Nor does it cover the result clauses with modals. It includes lots of visuals and pictures so students have a better understanding of how subject pronouns are used to describe people or things. It also includes several matching, reading, speaking, and picture description activities. Finally, it contains gap-fill exercises so that students can practice using subject pronouns in sentences. Though it appears that it is longer, this lesson is not overly dense.
