Teacher resources, MS and HS lessons on fake pills made of fentanyl - fentapills. Deaths from fake pills with fentanyl are surging across the country and right here in our own school district. In the past 18 months, we've lost several students to fentanyl-related poisonings — teenagers who had hopes and dreams and plans. These teenagers had families who loved them and are still coming to grips with their losses.
Teens are purchasing what they think are OxyContin, Percoset or Xanax pills via social media, but drug dealers are making these fake pills with the cheaper, stronger and more deadly synthetic drug called fentanyl to increase their profits. Fentanyl is up to 50 times more potent than heroin and 100 times more potent than morphine. Fentanyl is odorless, tasteless and colorless. Teens never know what they’re getting. One pill can kill them. One pill.

Wrap your mind around the world, but without strawberries, watermelons, or chocolate. Humans rely on pollinators such as native bees, honey bees, butterflies, birds, and even flies for these and other important foods around the world. In our neighborhoods, pollinators are in trouble. This video link will support educators as they teach the Bee A Friend To Pollinators lesson plans, helping children become advocates for pollinator-friendly schools and community spaces.

Download this complete set of lessons for an elementary, NGSS-aligned inquiry that foregrounds engineering practices. During the days that are supported by this investigation, students observe flowers on their 14 to 16 day old Fast Plants along with bee structures, learning to connect how the shape of a structure is related to its function. Then, students make and/or use bee sticks to conduct pollination. Finally, students look closely at how pollen is carried on bee bodies and where pollen moves within the flower as concrete examples of the relationship between structure and function. Then, students have the opportunity to use a wide variety of materials to design a solution to a problem (no bees). The solution will be a simple model that mimics the function of a bee in pollinating plants.Complete kits are available from Carolina Biological for this investigation, or everything to grow Fast Plants can be built or obtained locally, using the instructions available on the Fast Plants website. This stand-alone inquiry is a subset of lessons from a comprehensive life cycle unit that is NGSS-aligned, titled "Investigating Plants Needs with Wisconsin Fast Plants" (also available in the Fast Plants digital library).

This site hosts two beginner adult ESL courses offered by Grossmont Community College: ESL 078 (with focus on listening fluency) and ESL 078R (with focus on reading proficiency). Each container offers materials for the first 2-4 (or more) weeks of the courses. The timing depends on the pace of a low-beginner class. Some classes may go faster and take 2 weeks, and some may need to go slower and may take up to 4 weeks.
The units that are offered are mostly for the instructor of the courses. This is because the teacher must lead the course with aural and verbal comprehension checks. At this level, students have very limited ability to communicate in any meaningful way, so the materials provide guidance to the teacher leading these courses.
The materials include videos, slideshows, vocabulary sheets, readings (such as original stories), teacher scripts, and simple assessments.
The materials are based on the principles that underlie contemporary language teaching in the area of Second Language Acquisition. The proficiency based approaches that have been used to create these materials are CI (comprehensible Input) and TPRS (Teaching Proficiency Through Reading and Story-Telling).

In this early American history lesson, students are introduced to Benjamin Banneker (1731-1806), a free Black landowner from Maryland who found notoriety as a largely self-taught surveyor, astronomer, and natural historian. A friend and neighbor of the Ellicotts, an influential family of abolitionist Quakers, Banneker became a national figure in the young republic through his popular series of almanacs, and is remembered for his scientific achievements, public opposition to slavery (including a famous exchange with Thomas Jefferson), and role in surveying the boundaries of the District of Columbia. The Woodson Center's Black History and Excellence curriculum is based on the Woodson Principles and tells the stories of Black Americans whose tenacity and resilience enabled them to overcome adversity and make invaluable contributions to our country. It also teaches character and decision-making skills that equip students to take charge of their futures. These lessons in Black American excellence are free and publicly available for all.

This curriculum builds upon many years of educating students in the garden and scales up content across grades and lessons for instructional scaffolding. It is designed as an interactive teaching tool to be co-taught with classroom teachers and garden instructors as leads. Each lesson connects directly to standards: Next Generation Science, Common Core State, Physical Education, and Environmental and Health Education. The concise and easy to-follow lessons are a packed 45 minutes for preschool through fifth grade. Flexibility is important, so some lessons include several activities that teachers can choose from to accommodate their lesson plans. Consistency is also important, so lessons follow themes and structures found in the Curriculum Map. 360 pages.
