This unit was written to be used by preschool or elementary teachers working with primary aged children. The unit visits 'Cinderella-like' characters from China, Ireland, Egypt, Africa, Mexico, and the Ojibwa tribe.
The third grade class will need to write an essay and a trifold persuading the students and the teacher to adopt a class pet. The students will need to use the computer to reasearch good reasosn why their pet would be beneficial to the classroom. Their trifold will have pictures and information about their pet. IDOE standard 3.W.3.1 will be taught with this lesson. It states that 3rd grade students need to be able to write a persuasive texts. Another standard from IDOE is 3.SL.4.2. This students need to be to present their persuasive essay orally to the class. Part 1: Driving question: Should the third grade class adopt a class pet? Part 2: GrabberWhat is your grabber?While the students are writing, a dog walks into the classroom. I’ll say. “How did you get in here?” I’ll attempt to get the dog and take him out of the classroom. Then I’ll show the students a video about the good and bad reasons about having a pet in the classroom. I won’t show the whole video, just the first 3 or 4 minutes. Then the students will be presented with the project. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbwiYOA-RcY Culminating activities: The students will need to conduct research on the computer about the animal they want to choose or an animal that would not be a good choice for the classroom. They will need to print out pictures of the animal and write down facts about it for the trifold. They will write their essay with some information from the internet. They will write information and glue pictures in the trifold. Lastly, they will present it to the class by reading the essay and sharing the trifold.
Students will learn the characteristics of the Three Graces, compare and contrast a classical image of the Graces with a contemporary interpretation, and use empathy and theater skills to consider an artist’s purpose for adapting a classical image in a contemporary work of art.
The purpose of this module is to provide effective and practical classroom strategies for teaching children with ADHD. This module is designed for teachers for children 1-8 though can also be modified for K-12 grades as well. Statistically speaking, 20% of children experience a mental health need and ADHD is becoming more prevalent, likely because of increased awareness.

The attached lesson plan is designed for students in grades 9-12 as a introduction to a collaboration in the classroom. This lesson plan can also be used in any class requiring group work of any kind. The Colourful World Game presents the player with problems related to sustainability that he/she must solve by exploring the game's environment, gathering information/following clues, and collecting and using items.
The player is visited by different animals seeking help after experiencing the consequences of unsustainable human behaviours. The player then has to explore different scenarios in order to resolve the situation and return the animals to their habitat.
The player will have 4 levels to play, corresponding to 4 different themes and complexity levels.

This lesson is an extension of LA lessons teaching compound words. Once students are introduced to the concept of compound words, they will listen to a picture book and see if they can identify compound words from the book. Take time while reading to discuss the words. You may consider making a chart as you read. Be sure students understand that in a compound word, each word has a meaning, and when put together, the new word has a different meaning.
This lesson may be used with Launguge Arts, Writing, and Social Studies. The students will learn about various people who were influencial in changing the world through civil rights. They students will write a dream about something they would like to do to make the world better.
Este libro de investigación trata sobre que los momentos de la lectura mejoran la comprensión lectora en los niveles literal, inferencial y crítico de los estudiantes del segundo grado “E” del ciclo avanzado del CEBA “Politécnico Regional del Centro”- Huancayo, es de naturaleza cuantitativa, tipo aplicada, diseño pre experimental, con pre test y pos test en un solo grupo, muestra no probabilística. Se aplicó un pre test para diagnosticar su comprensión de textos, luego una propuesta experimental basada en la estrategia los momentos de la lectura de Isabel Solé y un post test para determinar los efectos. Se demostró estadísticamente que la aplicación de esta estrategia permite mejorar significativamente la comprensión lectora en el nivel literal, inferencial y crítico. Esto se fundamenta porque en el pre test la mayoría de estudiantes alcanzó calificaciones inferiores a 10 (escala vigesimal); pero, en el post test la mayoría superó este promedio en estos niveles. En el calculó se evidenció que existen diferencias significativas entre las puntuaciones del pre y post test de 6,6 puntos p < 0,05.
