Developed by Washington Latin Public Charter School, this four slide Power Point provides several conversation-starters in the form of brief "about you" lists. The "about you" lists describe two famous musicians from the Arab world, and two characters from the popular American television show, "The Simpsons."

The slides make use of pictures and Arabic text, and frame the "about you" lists in common phrases and expressions that facilitate general conversation about everyday topics.

This Coptic website contains a section for learning languages. In the Arabic learning section, there are nineteen different categories including the alphabet, grammar, numbers, and groups of vocabulary words used in daily life, such as women's clothing and insects. The vocabulary in these categories include labeled illustrations.

Through providing the relevant vocabulary and cultural background for the topic, hair, students gain confidence in coping with situations of everyday life. While repeating and applying the input they will develop their listening and reading skills and get an understanding of the recent trends in Germany. Furthermore, students will acquire the competency to compare certain aspects of life in Germany and the US through the final listening activity.

Developed by Washington Latin Public Charter School, this thirty-nine slide Power Point presentation displays several pictures of popular, everyday destination places in the Arab world. The Power Point is thematically organized by a question (in Arabic) on its title slide - "Where are you going?" - and subsequent slides display popular places such as internet cafes, restaurants, homes, schools, and coffee shops.

Each slide is introduced by a question, "What is this?," and an answer "This is a...," both of which are in Arabic. Most pictures are authentic images taken on-location at several places throughout the Arab world, and thus feature prominent Arabic writing on signs, houses, advertisements, and so on.

On December 7, 1941, Imperial Japan attacked a US naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Pre-existing racial tensions and “yellow peril” hysteria magnified as the American public grew increasingly suspicious of Japanese Americans and uncertain of their loyalty. They were regarded as potential spies and anti-Japanese propaganda quickly spread. Then, on February 19, 1942, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066. 120,000 people of Japanese ancestry (two-thirds of whom were US citizens) were forced to evacuate from their homes and report to assembly centers. From there, they were moved to one of ten internment camps, or War Relocation Centers, located in remote areas of seven states—California, Arizona, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, and Arkansas.For the next three years, Japanese Americans acclimated to life behind barbed wire and under armed guard. Uprooted from their lives, they found themselves in strange and uncomfortable environments. They had to adapt to their new situation by adjusting to new living conditions, attending new schools, and finding inventive ways to pass the time. They attempted to maintain a sense of normalcy by attending religious meetings and by finding employment.This exhibition tells stories of everyday lives in Japanese Internment camps during World War II. It was created as part of the DPLA’s Digital Curation Program by the following students as part of Dr. Joan E. Beaudoin's course "Metadata in Theory and Practice" in the School of Library and Information Science at Wayne State University: Stephanie Chapman, Jessica Keener, Nicole Sobota, and Courtney Whitmore.

Mumkin offers practice materials for learners who are at a beginning, intermediate, and advanced level. Materials are grouped by difficulty level, and consists of videos in Arabic daily life followed by comprehension questions in the form of multiple choice or fill in the blank questions. Users also have the ability to read an Arabic transcription of each video. The site also provides a series of songs in Arabic that depict some aspect of contemporary Arab life along with the lyrics to the songs.

The word list includes the kinds of words you might need to know when traveling, such as "Go straight please" and "I need room service." Each word is transliterated and accompanied by an audio file.
