Students discuss clothing and play a Guess Who Game using clothing items for identification.

Students will with their classmates and be able to ask questions about what someone else is wearing. They will also be able to describe what someone else is wearing and students have to guess who that person is.

Students discuss differences in cities and clothing between the U.S. and Germany.  Students give directions to various locations.

Students combine art, gaming culture and engineering by fabricating light-up patches to increase youngsters’ visibility at night. The open-ended project is presented as a hypothetical design challenge: Students are engineers who have been asked by a group of parents whose children go out Pokémon hunting at night to create glowing patches that they adhere to clothing or backpacks to help vehicle drivers see the kids in the dark. Student pairs create Pokémon character stencil designs cut from iron-on fabric patches, adding transparent layers for color. Placed over an EL (electroluminescent) panel that is connected to a battery pack, the stencils create glowing designs. Each team creates a circuit, which includes lengthening the EL panel wiring to make it easier to wear. Then they sew/adhere the patches onto hoodies, messenger bags, hats, pockets or other applications they dream up. The project concludes with team presentations as if to an audience of project clients. Keep the project simple by hand cutting and ironing/sewing, or use cutting machines, laser cutters and sewing machines, if available.

This activity allows students to practice asking each other questions related to who someone is. Students will practice answering questions about physical characteristics.

This activity can be used to combine weather and clothing in a speaking activity. Students will use a weather forecast to discuss the clothing they need to pack for a trip and why. Student pairs will receive a weather forecast for 8 days in Germany. They will then have to discuss what clothing they will need for the trip and why. Together they should write down the clothing items in the suitcase template provided.

This Coptic website contains a section for learning languages. In the Arabic learning section, there are nineteen different categories including the alphabet, grammar, numbers, and groups of vocabulary words used in daily life, such as women's clothing and insects. The vocabulary in these categories include labeled illustrations.

Educators worked with NDE staff to create OER Learning Plans and materials. The attached activity is designed for 9 - 12 World Language teachers for students at Novice Mid to Intermediate Mid proficiency level in Spanish. Students will shop on a Spanish-language website to create an outfit, and then they will vote on their favorite outfits across a variety of categories. This activity addresses the following NDE World Language Standard(s): NE WL 1.2 and NE WL 4.2.It is expected that this activity will take students about 15-20 minutes to complete.

Students learn about engineering applications in artistic venues by designing and creating eye masks that each contain three LEDs. They explore parallel circuits with their LEDs, and sew with conductive thread to create light-up displays on their masks, gaining hands-on experience in using engineering technologies as well as custom product design and assembly.

Students apply sound-activated light-up EL wire to create personalized light-up clothing outfits. During the project, students become familiar with the components, code and logic to complete circuits and employ their imaginations to real-world applications of technology. Acting as if they are engineers, students are challenged to incorporate electroluminescent wire to regular clothing to make attention-getting safety clothing for joggers and cyclists. Luminescent EL wire stays cool, making it ideal to sew into wearable projects. They use the SparkFun sound detector and the EL sequencer circuit board to flash the EL wire to the rhythm of ambient sound, such as music, clapping, talking—or roadway traffic sounds! The combination of sensors, microcontrollers and EL wire enables a wide range of feedback and control options.

In this PPT activity, students will describe (in writing and aloud) what people were wearing at the Academy Awards.The PPT includes 7 pictures for written description and 8 for spoken description, as well as instruction slides and example slides to explain how the activity works.This goes with a Spanish 2 (or 3 review) unit on Clothing/Colors and the verb llevar.

This chapter will focus on clothing and adjectives to describe clothing (such as colors, materials). as well as adjectives to describe people's personalities and physical appearance.  It will introduce the verb faire, and its expressions as well as ask about professions using faire.  Interrogatory words will also be reviewed and introduced such as qui, que, combien, comment, où, quand and pourquoi.

In this chapter clothing will be introduced and accompanying vocabulary and grammar such as colors, demonstrative adjectives and possessive adjectives will be reviewed. BAGS adjectives that precede nouns will be studied.

Students examine full–color images of dolls from the museum's collection in order to learn more about the diverse cultures, communities, and environments the dolls represent.

Activities emphasize descriptions using adjectives -- through discussions about the clothing people are wearing in the featured works of art.
