Long Description:
Open education is at a critical juncture. It has moved on from its northern roots and is increasingly being challenged from its own periphery. At the same time, it finds itself marginalised and under threat in an educational sector infiltrated by corporate interests. However, rather than bunkering down, becoming blinkered or even complacent, the editors of this volume believe that the voices from the periphery should be amplified. This book represents a starting point towards curating and centering marginal voices and non-dominant epistemic stances in open education, an attempt at critical pluriversalism. It is a curated collection of 38 blog posts, lectures, talks, articles, and other informal works contributed by 43 diverse authors/co-authors and published since 2013. Each of these contributions offers a perspective on open education that can be considered marginal and that challenges the dominant hegemony.

He reports that he spent the past 15 months serving with the military in Afghanistan and only recently returned. The patient is a 61 year-old male with a history of colitis who presented to the emergency department after sustaining abdominal trauma secondary to falling. As part of his workup, the patient underwent a CT scan which revealed a non-contrast enhancing low attenuation focus within the uncinate process of the pancreatic head measuring 2.5 x 2.3 cm. The patient subsequently underwent an endoscopic ultrasound which revealed an oval 33mm by 21mm well demarcated mixed solid and cystic mass with 2 hyperechoic foci seen in the head of the pancreas. The lesion was extensively sampled with a 25g needle for cytologic evaluation.

The patient is a 45 y/o caucasian male with no significant past medical history who was well until May of 2007. He works as a machinist and at that time had a small wire penetrate the thenar eminence of his right hand. For several days he had a small amount of purulent drainage which resolved spontaneously. In June of 2007 his right 2nd finger became swollen and he was prescribed a 5 day course of Prednisone that provided temporary improvement followed by injections into the 2nd and 4th metacarpal joints and the wrist when the swelling returned.

She is status post Nissen fundoplication and right hip arthroplasty. She presents with complaints of polyuria and increased thirst. Physical exam reveals ankle edema.

In The Phoenix Project, 3-5 players take on the roles of community members striving to rebuild their city after ruination and disaster. In this game, players collaboratively create a map across four phases of gameplay—Determine the Disaster, The City Before, The City at Present, and The City to Come. Players take turns during these phases, building on, expanding, and complicating each other's contributions to the map with the goal of telling a rich and evolving story of adaptability in the face of world-changing events and circumstances. The game aims to foster cooperation, creativity, and empathy as players navigate challenges and obstacles, shaping the future of their city and their world. While the length of gameplay can be adjusted by the players as they wish, the standard game is expected to take around 45 to 60 minutes to play.
