A Project Based Learning Outline for Citizenship and Martin Luther King Jr. Day. To be used with 1st or 2nd Grade, as fitted with standards.

Students will be able to ask for directions, information, and recommendations in the target language. Students will also learn to provide directions and information to other students. Students will play a game of "Chutes and Ladders" and answer trivia questions in the target language.

Students will create a Prezi tour of 7 of the battles of the American Civil War, justifying why they chose each battle as one of their 7.

Students will view a powerpoint presentation and short video over the rise of the Ancient Indus River Valley Civilization, as well as the rise and fall of the Mauryan and Gupta Empires. Students will be completing review questions over the content and concepts covered.

The goal of this unit is that the students will be able to:
1. work in a blended learning environment to understand climate change and its impact on the world.
2. master a basic understanding of climate change
3. work in groups to research focused questions, present their research, and propose a way to combat climate change.

Schrauben lösen, Kabel neu verlegen: Messer, Gabel und Pudelmütze werden zum Input für den Computer. Ziel ist es, neue Benutzerschnittstellen für den Computer zu entwickeln, indem die TeilnehmerInnen einen Blick "unter die Motorhaube" einer USB-Tastatur werfen. So können Jugendliche im Alter von 13 - 17 Jahren erste Schritte im kreativen Umgang mit Elektronik machen und dabei viel Spaß haben.

Voraussetzungen sind lediglich die Freude am Experimentieren und die Neugier, technologische Grundlagen spielerisch zu erlernen.

Hierbei handelt es sich um die Beschreibung des Workshops "Reaktive Voodoopuppen" im Rahmen der Code Week 2014.

This lesson is designed to help with coin identification and counting coin sums.

Extensions of lesson include: independent color recognition matching game and color games called Color Crazy and Monster Smash which are partner/group activities.

Students will play a game called "Colorful Vocabulary". Students will practice describing people, places, and items using a game. This will teach students how to describe multiple topics using different vocabulary words.

Communication is key in our daily lives. We need to have access to what is on our calendar – the school calendar. And yes, it’s great to have it electronically, but when there is a large group of people checking dates for an event it’s nice to have a large format for at-a-glance information. In this lesson, students will learn to create a large format 18” x 24” calendar file that could be printed and posted in a classroom to use for reference to upcoming events for the month. In our small community it has also become a public relations tool for our school and several are posted in businesses throughout our school district. Using the picture file format of the design, the calendar is also shared electronically each month for smaller print format in the community newsletter and online access.

This learning resource is a product of our involvement in the GoPro Learning Challenge. As part of our Community Garden series, it develops learner knowledge and skills in the following areas: deepened understanding of the tomato plant/fruit, it's dietary/cultural significance, preparation of soil/roots for planting, proper positioning of tomato plants for optimal growth, and protection of young plants in a home garden. Learners will be asked to engage with the resource and demonstrate their acquisition of knowledge/skill by presenting acquired knowledge and demonstrating proficiency in the various components of proper planting.

Comparing sales ads for the Shopping Unit for Beginner Adult ESL learners. Using sales ads students will learn how to figure out sale prices, percentage discounts, and final cost of items. They will compare ads from advertisers, compare like items, and find the best price available. Students will learn how to make sentences using comparatives (and superlatives – for higher level ESL learners.)

This is a lesson plan for comparing and contrasting characters and composing a strong thesis statement prior to writing an essay. This lesson is to be used while reading Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockinbird. I have provided a list of characters, a novel summary presentation, by Rachel Amedee, and the essay assignment.

Conceptual Chemistry is a year-long course based on CK-12 OER instructional material and supplemented with limited commercially-available materials. The course is project-based, argument-driven inquiry. Each quarter begins with presentation of an intriguing phenomenon, followed by an essential question about the phenomenon, and a project centered on answering that essential question. Throughout the quarter, students conduct research and investigations to answer portions of the question. Each unit has a student "Task" at the end that serves as an assessment of the unit's concepts. At the end of each quarter, students assemble all of the unit tasks and synthesize a personal final project that answers the essential question in a personal context chosen by the student.
