Here the OER Commons Submission Guidelines our librarians use to review content submissions to the OER Commons library, and a few examples of different OER Evaluation Tools:
Here are some quality evaluation criteria that was shared during our discussions at the 2024 Open Education Summer Institute:
- Is the content current, regularly updated, and showcasing best practices?
- Is the content relevant to students? (culture, region, etc.)
- Is the reading level appropriate for the intented audience?
- Is the content accessible?
- Is the content diverse?
- Is the formatting consistent?
- Do links all open the same way?
- Are videos embedded or linked?
- Are there no typos or errors?
- Are there appropriate citations?
- Is the language and terminology consistnent throughout the resource?
- Is the content highly organized?
- Are the authors credible?
- Are ancillary materials available?
- Does the course allow for student input and redesign?
