Resources and Statistics for OER
by Brent Fonville 1 year, 10 months agoHi Everyone
I'm looking for any statistics or resources anyone has in regards to the usage of OER. Specifically I'm looking for things pertaining to student savings, student success, practices at sister institutions, etc. I'm giving a presentation to all the administration at DSCC and I want to be able to provide some clear, credible evidence to increasing the usage of OER at our college.
Thanks!

Brent,
I would recommend the (administrator-friendly!) white papers from Bayview Analytics (https://www.bayviewanalytics.com/oer.html), as well as the recent Virginia Course Materials Survey (https://vivalib.org/va/open/survey) for background on OER and adoption/awareness information. For efficacy, the Review Project from the Open Ed group is a great place to start (http://openedgroup.org/review), with the metastudy and bibliography.
There are also, of course, great resources from SPARC (https://sparcopen.org/open-education/), Open textbook alliance (https://opentextbookalliance.org/), and Student PIRGs (https://studentpirgs.org/campaigns/make-textbooks-affordable/).
I hope this helps!
