This Remote Learning Plan is designed for preschool students. This alphabet lesson uses the story Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin, Jr. and John Archambault as an introduction to alphabet identification. Anticipated lesson length is 30 minutes. Online and offline options are included.
Students will read an article on animals. Using the provided worksheet students will take notes on an animal of their choosing. Once they have taken notes, they will be asked to write a new report on their animal.

Students will use beginning sight words to confidently read and write. This is meant as a mid to end of the year Kindergarten lesson. Sentence segmentation, or counting words in a sentence, is the first step in phonological awareness. Students need to have an understanding that words are made up of letters and sentences are made up of words. This basic skill will help them later with both reading and writing.Objective: I can break and count words in a sentence.Time required: 20 minutes or lesson can be chunked into managable size bits for your students.

Students will use two-dimensional shapes to build a house on a page, then write a sentence using sight words and encodable words such as "I have a little house." They can be required to identify each shape as they remove it from their "house."
