This is an an online, mobile-friendly, digital language-learning grammar game collection for students of French created by Sonja Burrows and Brigitte Humbert at Middlebury College. It is a playful learning space, free and open to the public, where one can drop by anytime and from anywhere.
The games on the site are divided into three sections:
•Sentence Whiz, where users can practice questions, negations, relative pronouns, active and passive voice, and more structures.
•Word Nerd, where users can use nouns, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns, possessives, prepositions as well as additional parts of speech.
•Verb Challenge, where users can master past, present, and future verb tenses as well as tackle conditional, subjunctive, imperatives, and infinitives.
In addition, a guide for the learning space supports users who do not know where to begin or who would like to complete games in an established or recommended path. A resources area allows users to access explanations of grammar and, in some sections, traditional grammar exercises which support the games. Relevant sections of the resources area are linked to games which treat the same grammar points, so that users who complete a game and seek more practice or grammar explanations can easily find that needed support. A navigation and filtering system also allows users to select games which only treat a certain grammar point.

In this activity students will practice giving descriptions and answering guiding questions in order to lead their partner to a specific response. They will also learn about different francophone countries around the world.

Histoires d’Avenirs est un manuel basé sur neuf nouvelles de science fiction française qui s’adresse à un public d’apprenants étrangers (de niveaux intermédiaire et avancé) mais aussi à un public natif voulant approfondir ses connaissances de la science-fiction moderne - après un chapitre préliminaire qui rappelle les bases historiques du genre. It targets French language learning that is moving from the novice high to the intermediate low/mid range of proficiency (NCSSFL-ACTFL) or from the A2 to the B1-B2 CEFR level. Given that this level of language acquisition involves mainly sentence level communications dealing with routine, everyday situations, the four units in this etextbook review and deepen skills and strategies across the three modes of communication, interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational as well as deepening intercultural competencies. The units progress through: presenting oneself and deepening one’s notions of bilingual, intersectional identity; engaging in written, oral, and mediated dialogues and exchanges on topics of personal interest; deepening knowledge of the perspectives, products and practices of one or more francophone cultures and comparing them to the home culture; and, finally, mapping one’s linguistic and cultural competencies onto the individual student’s future professional and personal vision of a potential future.
