In this activity, students will practice the names of the jobs in Arabic, they will practice writing a full sentence describing what a character work. they will also talk about what they want to be in the future, and ask people about their jobs.Can-Do Statements:I can recognize most of the jobs in Arabic.I can say/write a full sentence in Arabic saying what I or someone works.I can talk about what I want to be in the future.I can ask someone about his/her job.

This unit explores the various ways information and ideas about climate change are presented through a variety of media. This includes the evaluation of social media posts, research into climate change issues, and an exploration of contemporary art and artists. This was designed and taught in an honors 9th grade English Language Arts Classroom by Dr. Tavia Quaid in response to student interest in climate change and to reinforce key information literacy skills.

This Unit is a collection resources that cover a 4 week span. This unit was designed with EL students in mind. Each day has vocabulary that will allow students learn key phrases and attributes of each career. Each week a different categories of careers is highlighted through books, activites, and videos. This class explores the political and aesthetic foundations of hip hop. Students trace the musical, corporeal, visual, spoken word, and literary manifestations of hip hop over its 30 year presence in the American cultural imagery. Students also investigate specific black cultural practices that have given rise to its various idioms. Students create material culture related to each thematic section of the course. Scheduled work in performance studio helps students understand how hip hop is created and assessed.

Students are given the opportunity to explore and dictate the importance of general education in the Arts. Allowing students to critically think and put their views into works in a persuasive manner, while assisting their argument with the prior knowledge of art.

This is a lesson used in a Theater 100 Intro to Theater classat West Los Angeles College in 2022. Students were part of an open-pedagogy process that connected them with stage artists of color whom they interviewed about their careers in stage design, writing and directing.Artists were contacted directly and volunteered to be part of the project. Most were delighted to speak with students aboout their careers.
