In this class challenge, students will be given one sheet of paper and a pair of scissors to create the longest continuous paper strip.
In this lesson students will learn the 8 steps of the Engineering Design Process.
In this lesson on branch circuits in electrical wiring, students will explore installing devices, calculating load and location, and safety in electrical wiring of branch circuits. Documents include a slide presentation and notes, NEC diagram, and four student practice worksheets.
Students will develop the skill to make a butt joint with proper penetration.
You will develop the skill of creating a convex T weld with a ⅛” leg size in the flat position.
This site links to twenty-nine (29) safety tests for power tools. Some of the tools include: welders, saws, cutters, jointer, drill, grinder, plans, sander, router, drill press, welder, etc. Each tool's resource includes competencies, instructional materials and procedures, safety requirements. operating procedures, and a written test.
Students will work through a manufacturing work flow simulation by making paper airplanes to meet a quota within a specific time frame.
The purpose of the 1G destructive bend test is to assess the student's ability to create a structurally sound material.
The purpose of this lesson will be to strike an arc with a shielded metal arc welder. Students will practice creating an arc.
This lesson will help students become more proficient at creating a weld bead in the flat position.
Overview: In this class challenge, students will be put into teams of two. Each team will be given two sheet of paper, 12” of tape, two rulers, and a two pairs of scissors to construct a creative stand/structure that can hold as many textbooks as possible at least 2” off of the ground.
This is a rubric for assessing welds.
This unit will introduce students to trusses. Students will follow the Engineering Design Process to build a balsa wood truss that can be tested for efficiency.Prior to assinging this project, it is reccommended that you access the Design Process Lesson available through OER authored by Matt Bova and Devon Rupp.
