Distance and Displacement are two very important concepts to understand when learning how to solve Physics problems. The assignment will give students the basic understanding of how to visualize the position of linear objects.

“Distant Nature: Astronomy Exercises” is a basic set of Open Educational Resource based astronomy exercises designed to be used as instructional aids in conjunction with textbooks and/or live observational exercises. These Exercises utilize the free planetarium software Stellarium.

The purpose of this unit is for students to develop their understanding of how to create art. This unit provides an opportunity to explore colour theory, Alberta-based artist Annora Brown and her connections to Indigenous cultures. Students will explore local art and wildlife, in addition to a brief dip into mindful awareness and how ultimately discover ways that we can connect the concepts of hands, images, and insights.

This resource provides lesson plans aligned to CC Standards for language arts that can be adapted to a wide range of LA levels, from middle to high school.

In this assignment, a group of four to five students will select one country that has been ranked in the World Development Indicators of the World Bank, the Human Development Indicators of the United Nations Development Program, and the Happy Planet Indicator of the New Economic Foundation. Using the selected country's political, social, and economic statistics, each group will assess the methodology and validity of the measurements of WDI, HDI, and HPI indicators for the country. Students will compare and contrast the measurement methods, analyze the strengths and weaknesses of each indicator, and propose recommendations to improve these indicators.

This is a document analysis assignment to assess SLO and give students an opportunity to demonstrate critical analysis of historical evidence: Interpret primary and secondary sources and compose an argument (thesis), which uses them for support.

I use this assignment to get my students thinking, writing, and talking about disability, the disability rights movement, and disability policy. Individual students have different ethical "lines." This class discussion proceeds with a series of prompts that presents a set of scenarios that explores ethical boundaries. Students discuss right and wrong actions with respect to a river and discuss why those actions are "right" or "wrong" as well as how their ethical viewpoints vary.
