In this activity students will practice creating short narratives in Chinese by creating a mad-libs like story. Students will take turns picking cards from different categories to fit together in a short story. Students will then share their short story out loud. Students will also read invitations for different types of parties and answer comprehension questions.

In this lab, students will discuss symbols or beliefs that either stand for good luck or bad luck. After the discussion, students will talk with a partner, pretending as if they are talking on the phone. Through this activity, students will learn how to make plans through a phone call.

In this activity students will view a few Chinese music videos from different genres. After viewing the videos, students will use information provided about each artist to do a mini research presentation in Chinese about the artist they chose.

During this lab students get a glimpse at the cultural importance of interpreters in a musical setting. Students also get to experience interpreting a song first hand for an audience. Students will learn how to interpret a song for others, helping their speed and accuracy improve.

In this activity, students will focus more on giving and completing tasks. The activity for this week will consist of two parts. Students will start by answering questions about their daily routine. Then they will pretend to be a character using cards provided to them.

In this activity students will survey one another to determine how much their classmates like/dislike certain foods.

Students will be able to exchange information about recycling, the environment, and animals around the world. Students will learn how to describe nature and explain their opinions regarding the environment. Students will also be able to communicate with others and present their opinions to the rest of the class on their ideas on nature.

In the activity, students will have the opportunity to explain what they are and are not able to do. Students will also give suggestions to a given situation.

During the warm-up students will review how to sign shapes and the cardinal numbers from the slideshow. For the main activity, students will pair up and each grab a picture card without showing it to their partner. One student will describe the picture card being specific to location, color, etc, while the other draws what their partner just described to them. The partners will then switch roles.

Students will practice asking and answering questions about family members and characteristics of people. 

In this activity students will practice high frequency phrases and vocabulary around food by doing a restaurant role play. Students will take on the roles of different restaurant patrons and a server to practice.

Students will each get a card describing a made up weekly schedule. They will try to work together to find a day and time that they can meet up and practice speaking and writing Chinese.

In this activity, students will be discussing parties. First, they will use pre-made party invitations to try to convince fellow students to attend their party, and then students will pair up to discover their partner’s ideal party.

Students will talk about fun events and things to do in Spanish speaking countries. They will practice how to reject or accept an invitation, emphasizing a polite way to explain why you can or can't go. They will also decide on ways to discuss what they did at an event or activity with friends.

In this activity, students will review and practice naming their body parts in Spanish. They will also use the vocabulary they already know to give clues to their classmates to describe a body part. Students will practice asking and answering questions relating to the body and come up with solutions for illnesses.

Students will begin by doing a warm up where they interview one another and introduce one another to the class. In this activity students will help reinforce their knowledge and understanding of terminology for weather in Chinese by playing a weather charades game. Students will then prepare a weekend weather report for a Chinese city of their choice and use it to present a forecast to their classmates where they also suggest activities to do based on the weather!
