This activity is designed to be a fun ice breaker for beginning Spanish students. They will get to know each other and practice using the alphabet. 

In this lab, students will practice different Spanish greetings, as well as matching pictures of celebrities with emotions. 

Students will be able to identify cognates and false cognates by playing a game of Kahoot and looking at different advertisements in Spanish.

In this activity, students are learning about school supplies. The lab assistant will start with a Kahoot game that covers the majority of school supplies vocabulary. For the main activity, students are going to play jeopardy to practice vocabulary and also to practice making complete sentences. They will then be asked wrap up questions.

Students will talk about their daily routines, as well as how to read a calendar from Spanish speaking countries. They will also discuss different school subjects.

In this activity, students will be going over preposiciones by playing a game of Kahoot and identifying places on a map of the Boise State University campus.

In this activity, students will be able to identify different parts of family trees by using famous families and their own.

This activity is to expose students to other types of currency in Spanish speaking countries. Students will practice the numbers in Spanish and will use adjectives to describe items that they can sell and buy.

This activity will help students practice initiating conversations in Spanish with someone. They will use phrases and vocabulary that will help them gather information from a person as well as giving information about themselves. Students will talk about school life, weather, and activities they enjoy.

In this activity, students will practice rejecting or accepting formal invitations to an afternoon or evening get-together. Also, as a group, they will have to select one of the invitation templates. Students will have to exchange ideas and organize them in order to successfully complete this activity.

In this activity the students are going to talk about their hobbies and what they like to do in their free time. 

In this activity, students will take a fun quiz to find out what kind of traveler they are. 

In this activity, students will talk about their vacation and hotel and express their thoughts about them.

Students will review different grammar functions they have learned throughout the semester as well as speak Spanish for the entire lab.

This activity is revised for a face-to-face K-12 classroom, although it is most appropriate for secondary (middle school and high school) levels. I added layers to the warm-up and cool-down and the entirety of the activity could easily last one full (50 minute) class period or be divided into two classes. The entire activity is contextualized as an authentic performance task where prospective students go on a virtual “university campus tour”.
