This blog offers translations of Arabic songs into English. Arabic transcriptions of the song lyrics are also provided, as are the transliterated lyrics. Where possible, the song has been added to the website as well so that users can listen to the song as well as read along. Users can request new songs to be translated, submit their own translations, and leave comments. The collection of Arabic papyrus, parchment, and paper at the J. Willard Marriott Library is the largest in the U.S. It contains several parchment pieces, 770 Arabic papyrus documents, and over 1,300 Arabic paper documents. The collection was compiled by Professor Atiya and his wife who purchased the collection over several years, largely from dealers in Egypt, Beirut, and London. Most of the collection originated in Egypt and the vast majority of the material is from 700 AD to the start of Ottoman rule. The collection is not yet cataloged.

The guide also gives pronunciation instructions and includes slightly more complicated topics such as when the 'ta marboota' is transliterated as a 't' and when it is transliterated as 'ah.'

This textbook, first published in 1919, is designed to provide beginning through advanced instruction in the written form of Modern Standard Arabic. The first fifteen lessons introduce the alphabet and the book then moves on to nouns, verbs, and more complex grammatical concepts. The lessons are interspersed with self-tests, and there are review lessons every so often. The textbook contains a reader with selections from newspapers and magazines for each of the last hundred lessons. An answer key and an index are also included. The filesize of the PDF is 34 MB.
