Islamic art explores the geometric systems that depend upon the regular division of the circle and the study of Islamic art increases appreciation and understanding of geometry. The use of these geometric systems creates a harmony among Islamic decorative arts and architecture, which is consistent with the Islamic belief that all creation is harmoniously interrelated.

Approaching an abstract subject in a concrete way provides a means of extending maths into other curriculum areas. The context of the Museum expands and enriches students' appreciation of the application of geometry in a cultural context and develops the sense of different cultural identities. Students have the opportunity to become familiar with the relationship between geometry and design and this can give confidence to students who have never seen themselves as 'good at art'.

This kit covers stereotyping of Arab people, the Arab/Israeli conflict, the war in Iraq and militant Muslim movements. Students will learn core information and vocabulary about the historical and contemporary Middle East issues that challenge stereotypical, simplistic and uninformed thinking, and political and ethical issues involving the role of media in constructing knowledge, evaluating historical truths, and objectivity and subjectivity in journalism.

Mixxer offers language partners across the globe for free via Skype. The website is set up to help parties who would like to learn each other's language connect for language exchange sessions. Users simply have to register and log in and they can search for conversation partners from across the globe. The site also allows users to maintain and share blogs in order to practice written elements of the language they are studying. Teachers can organize group sessions for their students.

This blog hosts a user generated dictionary of slang terms from the various Arabic speaking countries. Users can submit terms and rate other users' entries. The site collects terms for 18 different dialects from the regions of the Persian Gulf, the Levant, and North Africa and allows users to search its collection by dialect or alphabetical order. There is considerable overlap within many of these dialects.

This Arabic-only website is an effort to record and preserve information on the culture and history of modern Egypt from the reign of Muhammad 'Ali starting in 1805 to the end of Sadat's presidency in 1981. Materials on this site include pictures of coins from this era, maps, stamps, medals, books, documents, photos, recordings, information on movies, speeches, newspaper articles, magazine covers, and more.

This website includes information on all the verses of the Qur'an with both audio files as well as translations available. A portion of the website is accessible in Turkish. Information on verb conjugations, the measures system, pronouns, and other Arabic grammar lessons are available, as are lessons on how to read the Qur'an.

The „andut’ website provides up-to-date resources and guidance on foreign language learning in grades PreKĐ8, with the intention that such information will help provide a strong foundation for long-term language instruction. The website offers multiple links to other resources, such as a searchable database for early language learning schools and teaching resources. A listserv is available as well via the website.

The mission of the National African Language Resource Center (NALRC) at the University of Indiana is to serve the entire community of African language educators and learners in the United States by sponsoring a wide range of educational and professional activities. The intent is to improve the accessibility and quality of African language instruction in the United States.

The National Foreign Language Resource Center (NFLRC) at the University of Hawai'i is one of the fifteen National Foreign Language Resource Centers established under Title VI of the U.S. Department of Education. NFLRC focuses on the less commonly taught languages of Asia and the Pacific, including Arabic. The website offers publications available for sale and frequently hosts conferences and workshops.

The mission of the National Heritage Language Resource Center (NHLRC) at the University of California, Los Angeles is to develop effective pedagogical approaches to teaching heritage language learners, first by creating a research base and then by pursuing curriculum design and teacher education. Some of the center's projects for Arabic include facilitating STARTALK workshops, publishing articles on Arabic linguistics, and more. The NHLRC is one of 15 Language Resource Centers established under Title VI of the U.S. Department of Education.

The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages has published National Standards for Foreign Language Education. This project was funded by the U.S. Department of Education and the National Endowment for the Humanities. Arabic language teaching and learning resources in Al Masdar may be tagged as aligned with these standards.

The exam can be administered to students who are in college as well as to professionals and other adults. The exam can be administered anywhere in the world. The length of the exam varies depending on whether the advanced or the intermediate version is being administered.

This site presents the numbers in Arabic using the Hindi numeral system. Below each set of Hindi numerals are the corresponding Arabic numerals, and if users scroll over the Hindi numerals, they will see the number written out in the Arabic script. The site contains the numbers 1-19, 20-100 (in intervals of ten), 101, 200, 300, and 400, and then lists powers of ten from one thousand to one billion.

The OWL Testing Software serves many purposes and is useful for oral assessment as it can digitally capture the oral responses of each student. The system facilitates the rating and scoring process. OWL also allows raters to do evaluations online, record comments, and control multiple ratings. Additionally, it allows the opportunity for institutions to build assessments that are tailored to their syllabus and standards of achievements. Exams can be administered to anyone.

The Omniglot website provides a list of basic Arabic phrases both in Arabic script and in transliteration. Each phrase comes with an Arabic recording. It also provides links to other collections of Arabic phrases as well as information about learning foreign languages in general. A link to the chapter in the Bible regarding the Tower of Babel is available in Arabic and in many other languages as well.

This online Arabic tutorial from the University of Maryland offers information on the alphabet, basics in grammar such as pronouns and verb conjugations, numbers, qualifying adjectives, time and date, and other various vocabulary activities focusing on things such as the parts of the body and greetings. Each tutorial section comes with a comprehensive quiz. Audio components are available to listen to the various vocabulary words.

The Oral Proficiency Interview exam tests for speaking skills and is offered for various languages, including Arabic. The exam can be administered to students and professionals of all proficiency levels, starting from grade 11 in high school. The length of the exam, conducted by phone or Skype, is 20-30 minutes. Results fall on a scale of proficiency ranging from 0 to 5+. The exam resembles a conversation but goes through a specific set of stages: a warm-up stage to check the interviewee's level, a stage to probe for higher levels, and wind-down phase.

We anticipate that greater accessibility to the sources for the study of the humanities will strengthen the quality of questions, lead to new avenues of research, and connect more people through the connection of ideas.
